Picante Steak

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture onto the ribeye steaks and let them marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated steaks for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Molasses Jus

In a saucepan, combine beef broth and molasses. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning as desired.

  4. 4

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the molasses jus drizzled over the top.
