Bread Dough

Method

Bread Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, pour it into the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant, but not browned. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley and salt.

Baking the Garlic Bread

  1. 7

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller pieces for individual bread sticks.

  2. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. 9

    Apply Garlic Butter

Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top generously with the prepared garlic butter.

  4. 10

    Second Rise

Let the dough rest for another 20-30 minutes to puff up slightly.

  5. 11

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  6. 12

    Cool and Serve

Remove the bread from the oven, let it cool on a wire rack for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
