Our feature flavour this week is a play off of the popular Mumbo sauce that originated in Washington DC! Similar to BBQ sauce with a tiny bit of kick! Your choice of traditional, breaded, boneless, cauliflower, or plant-based! This flavour is plant-based and gluten friendly. Available for half priced wings tonight from 3pm-close.

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Wings

In a large bowl, mix together gluten-free flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss the plant-based wings in the mixture until evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Wings

Carefully add the coated wings to the hot oil in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove wings and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mumbo Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp hot sauce, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp onion powder. Stir until combined and simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Toss the Wings

In a large bowl, toss the fried wings in the Mumbo sauce until evenly coated.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Sweet & Sour Mumbo Wings hot with your favorite dipping sauces and celery sticks on the side.
