Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and knead until you have a smooth, elastic dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2

Make the Filling

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add ground meat and cook until browned. Stir in tomatoes, bell pepper, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in parsley.

3

Roll Out the Dough

Divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface.

4

Assemble the Lahmajeen

Place a spoonful of the meat filling onto the center of each dough circle. Spread it evenly, leaving a small border around the edge. Fold the edges slightly to create a small crust.

5

Bake

Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F). Place the assembled lahmajeen on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

6

Serve

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with a side of fresh salad or yogurt.
