Preparing the Pancake Batter

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Cooking the Pancakes

Preheat the Griddle
Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Transfer cooked pancakes to a plate and keep warm while you cook the remaining pancakes.

In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
