Preparation of Salad Base

Prepare Lettuce
Wash the lettuce thoroughly under running water. Tear or chop it into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

Prepare Pita Bread
Cut the pita bread in half to form pockets. Optionally, you can toast them lightly in a toaster or on a skillet for added crispness.
Sautéed Spinach Mixture

Sauté Onions and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes or until the onions are translucent.

Add Spinach
Add the fresh spinach to the skillet. Stir gently until the spinach wilts down, which should take about 2-3 minutes.

Season the Mixture
Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the sautéed mixture. Stir to combine evenly and remove from heat.

Combine Ingredients
Spoon the sautéed spinach, mushrooms, and onions mixture over the bed of lettuce in the salad bowl.
