Sauce

Method

Prepare the Sauce

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Seasonings

Stir in garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well blended.

  3. 3

    Chill

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Prepare the Filling

  1. 4

    Cook the Chicken

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chicken breast until fully cooked (about 6-7 minutes per side). Shred the chicken once cooled.

  2. 5

    Saute the Spinach and Artichokes

In the same skillet, add fresh spinach and artichoke hearts. Cook until spinach is wilted and artichokes are heated through (about 3-5 minutes).

  3. 6

    Combine Chicken and Vegetables

In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, sautéed spinach, and artichoke hearts. Mix well.

  4. 7

    Add Papperasi

Fold in the diced papperasi (bell peppers) for added crunch and flavor.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 8

    Spread Sauce

Take one slice of bread and spread a generous layer of the prepared sauce on one side.

  2. 9

    Add Filling

Place a portion of the chicken and vegetable mixture on top of the sauce-covered bread.

  3. 10

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle a layer of cheese over the filling.

  4. 11

    Top with Bread

Place another slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.

  5. 12

    Toast the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the sandwich on both sides until golden brown and the cheese is melted (about 3-4 minutes per side).
