Method

Falafel Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak the Chickpeas

Soak the canned chickpeas in water for 1 hour. Drain and rinse before using.

  2. 2

    Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the soaked chickpeas, parsley, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Blend until the mixture is coarse but well combined.

  3. 3

    Add Flour

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour, adjusting as necessary to achieve a moldable consistency.

  4. 4

    Shape the Falafel

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small balls or patties, about the size of a golf ball.

  5. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.

  6. 6

    Fry the Falafel

Carefully place the falafel balls into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  7. 7

    Drain

Remove the falafel from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Wrap Assembly

  1. 8

    Prepare the Vegetables

Dice the cucumber, tomato, and thinly slice the red onion.

  2. 9

    Assemble the Wrap

Place 2-3 falafel balls on a piece of pita bread or wrap, add the diced vegetables, and drizzle with tahini sauce.

  3. 10

    Wrap and Serve

Fold the wrap over the filling, securing it well, and serve immediately.
