Directions
- 1
Prepare the Apples
Wash and core the apples, then cut them into quarters. No need to peel them.
- 2
Cook the Apples
In a large pot, combine the apple quarters and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the apples are soft.
- 3
Mash the Apples
Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the apples to release the juice.
- 4
Strain the Juice
Place a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the mashed apples into it. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the juice to filter through.
- 5
Sweeten and Add Lemon
Once the juice is collected, stir in the sugar and lemon juice to taste. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
- 6
Serve
Chill the apple juice in the refrigerator before serving, or serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
