Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and chop them into small pieces. You can also use canned tomatoes if fresh ones are not available.

Chop the Garlic
Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

Prepare the Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves and pat them dry. Tear them into smaller pieces if desired.

Prepare the Cheese
Cut the mozzarella cheese into small cubes or slices.

Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, minced garlic, and olive oil. Add a teaspoon of salt and black pepper to taste. Toss everything together until well mixed.

Add Cheese and Basil
Gently fold in the mozzarella cheese and fresh basil leaves into the tomato mixture. Be careful not to break the cheese too much.

Let it Rest
Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld.

Spoon the Margherita mixture onto toasted bread or serve it as a salad. Drizzle with additional olive oil if desired.
