In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, salt, and black pepper. Add the shrimp and let marinate for 30 minutes.

Coat the Shrimp
In a shallow dish, place the cornstarch. After marinating, remove shrimp from the buttermilk mixture and coat each piece in cornstarch.

Fry the Shrimp
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

Make the Bang Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and garlic powder until smooth.

Toss the fried shrimp in the Bang sauce and serve immediately.
