Muddle Mint and Lime
In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and lime juice. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the mint leaves against the bottom of the glass to release their oils, being careful not to shred them.

Add Simple Syrup and Rum
Pour the simple syrup over the muddled mint and lime mixture. Then, add the white rum to the glass.
