Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes before preparing the cocktail.

2

Prepare mint simple syrup (if not pre-made)

Combine equal parts sugar and water (e.g., 1/2 cup sugar + 1/2 cup water) in a small saucepan. Add a small handful of fresh mint leaves and bring to a simmer until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, let steep 20 minutes, then strain and chill. Yields roughly 1 cup; use 1/2 oz per cocktail.

3

Muddle cucumber & mint

In a cocktail shaker, add 3 thin cucumber slices and one mint sprig. Gently muddle 6–8 times — press to release cucumber juice and mint aroma but avoid pulverizing into bits.

4

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Ketel One Cucumber Mint vodka, 1/2 oz elderflower liqueur, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, 1/2 oz mint simple syrup and 1/4 oz dry vermouth (optional) into the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

5

Add ice & shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is well chilled.

6

Double strain

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer. Double strain the cocktail into the glass through a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (or use a fine sieve) to catch small cucumber and mint particulates.

7

Garnish & finish

Garnish with a thin cucumber ribbon or wheel and a fresh mint sprig. Clap the mint between your palms once before placing it on the drink to release oils and aroma.

8

Serve

Serve immediately while chilled. Optionally provide a small straw or stirrer.
