Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Step 1: Boil the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool slightly for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Add Eggs

Add 2 large eggs to the flour mixture, one at a time, stirring vigorously until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Cinnamon Sugar Preparation

  1. 4

    Step 4: Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow dish, mix together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Frying

  1. 5

    Step 5: Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Step 6: Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe 4 to 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  3. 7

    Step 7: Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

Step 8: Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
