Method
Prepare the Beef
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Drain excess fat, if necessary. Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- 3
Simmer
Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Let it cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Assemble the Tacos
- 4
Prepare Taco Shells
If using hard taco shells, preheat your oven according to the package instructions. Place the taco shells in the oven to warm for about 5 minutes.
- 5
Fill the Shells
Spoon the seasoned beef mixture into each taco shell, filling them generously.
- 6
Add Toppings
Top each taco with shredded lettuce, cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and salsa according to your taste.
- 7
Serve
Arrange the filled tacos on a serving platter and serve immediately while warm.
