Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Coat the Steak

Add the flank steak to the bowl, ensuring it's fully coated with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes. This helps keep the juices in the meat.

  5. 5

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Taco Assembly

  1. 6

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a few strips of grilled steak in the center of each tortilla. Top with diced onion and fresh cilantro.

  3. 8

    Add Condiments

Drizzle sour cream over the filling and serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing.
