Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Chorizo

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chorizo sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and jalapeño to the skillet. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and soft.

Mixing and Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Cheese Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese. Mix until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Chorizo Mixture

Add the cooked chorizo and sautéed vegetables to the cheese mixture. Stir until everything is evenly mixed.

  3. 5

    Season the Dip

Add cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir well to combine all the spices.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Dip

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the dip mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy with tortilla chips.
