Pork Filling

Method

Pork Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Searing the Pork

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork shoulder and sear on all sides until browned, about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sautéing Aromatics

Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Combining Ingredients

Return the seared pork to the skillet. Add the diced green chiles, chicken broth, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmering

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.

  5. 5

    Shredding the Pork

Once the pork is tender, remove it from the skillet and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the skillet and mix it well with the sauce.

Slider Assembly

  1. 6

    Preparing the Sliders

Slice the slider buns in half. On the bottom half of each bun, add a generous amount of the green chile pork filling.

  2. 7

    Topping the Sliders

Top the pork with sliced avocado and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

  3. 8

    Serving

Place the top half of the buns on each slider. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the sliders.
