Prepare the Chicken
If not already cooked, boil or grill chicken until fully cooked. Shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

Make the Green Chile Sauce
In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, diced green chiles, chicken broth, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.

Prepare Tortillas
If using corn tortillas, cut them into quarters for easier layering.
Assembling the Casserole

Layer Ingredients
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large casserole dish, spread a layer of the green chile cream sauce at the bottom. Follow with a layer of corn tortillas, then a layer of shredded chicken, diced green chiles, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

Bake
Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Let the casserole sit for about 10 minutes before serving. Cut into squares and serve warm, garnished with additional diced green chiles or chopped cilantro if desired.
