Method
Cooking the Meat
- 1
Cook the Chicken
In a pot, boil the chicken breast in water until fully cooked (about 15-20 minutes). Shred the chicken using two forks and set aside.
- 2
Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Shredded Beef
In a separate pot, cook shredded beef with your choice of spices and water until tender, about 1-2 hours. Shred and set aside.
- 4
Prepare Adovada Pork
Marinate pork in adovada sauce for at least 1 hour, then cook in a pot until tender, about 1-2 hours. Shred and set aside.
- 5
Prepare Green Pork
Cook green pork with green salsa until tender, about 1-2 hours. Shred and set aside.
Assembling and Frying the Flautas
- 6
Warm the Tortillas
In a skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 1 minute on each side until pliable.
- 7
Fill the Tortillas
Place a small amount of your chosen meat filling in the center of each tortilla. Add a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top.
- 8
Roll the Flautas
Carefully roll the tortilla tightly around the filling to form a flauta. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
- 9
Fry the Flautas
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the flautas in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- 10
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, place the flautas on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
