Preparing the Carnitas

Season the Pork
In a large bowl, combine the orange juice, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker and pour the marinade over it. Add the sliced onion and bay leaves.

Slow Cook
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and can be shredded easily with a fork.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Shred the pork using two forks and return it to the slow cooker to soak up the juices.

Warm the Tortillas
In a skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds to 1 minute on each side until pliable.

Serve
Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side and optional salsa. Enjoy your delicious carnitas tacos!
