Base

Garnish & Flavor (optional but traditional)

Method

Prepare Glass and Garnish

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place the serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before serving to keep the drink extra cold.

2

If using a salted rim, run the cut edge of the quartered lime around the top rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a small plate with the coarse salt so it adheres evenly. Tap off any excess salt.

3

Cut one lime wedge for serving and set aside.

Assemble Drink

4

Fill the chilled (or regular) serving glass with 1 cup of ice cubes, leaving a bit of room at the top.

5

Open one bottle of Mexican Coca-Cola (glass bottle preferred). Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and minimize foaming. Fill to about 1 cm (1/2 inch) below the rim.

6

Gently stir once with a bar spoon to integrate the cold without losing too much fizz.

7

Squeeze the cut edge of the fresh lime once over the top of the drink to add a hint of fresh citrus, then drop the squeezed wedge into the glass or place the reserved wedge on the rim for garnish.

Serve

8

Serve immediately while the drink is cold and carbonated. Provide a straw if desired.

9

Optional: Offer additional lime wedges and a small dish of salt on the side for guests who want more seasoning or citrus.
