Preparation
- 1
Chill the Glass
Begin by chilling an old-fashioned glass. You can do this by placing it in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes or filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 ounces of Amador Double Barrel Bourbon, 1 teaspoon of simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Peychaud bitters.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes (approximately 2 cups) and stir the mixture gently for around 30 seconds until well chilled.
- 4
Strain and Serve
Remove the ice from your chilled old-fashioned glass. Strain the bourbon mixture into the glass over fresh ice.
- 5
Garnish
Express the oils from a strip of orange peel over the drink by holding the peel over the glass and giving it a quick twist. Then drop the peel into the glass. Finally, add a maraschino cherry as a garnish.
