Cookie Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- 6
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- 7
Scoop the Dough
Using a large cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake the Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will continue to cook as they cool.
- 9
Cool the Cookies
Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
