Method

Preparing Espresso

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Using an espresso machine, add 18g of espresso coffee grounds into the portafilter and tamp down. Lock the portafilter into the machine. Pour 60ml of water through the grounds to brew a shot of espresso.

Steaming Milk

  1. 2

    Steam the Milk

Pour 150ml of milk into a steaming pitcher. Use the steam wand of the espresso machine to heat the milk until it reaches around 65-70°C, creating a creamy texture. Be careful not to overheat or scald the milk.

Creating Foam

  1. 3

    Create Milk Foam

Using the same steam wand, add 50ml of milk into a separate pitcher. Froth the milk until it becomes light and airy. This should take about 30 seconds. Aim for a velvety microfoam.

Assembling Cappuccino

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the brewed espresso into a cup. Next, pour the steamed milk over the espresso, filling the cup about 2/3 full. Finally, spoon the milk foam on top of the steamed milk. Optionally, you can sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top for garnish.
