Cooking Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Cook the Noodles
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 3
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain excess fat. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
- 4
Mix the Ricotta Filling
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- 5
Assemble the Lasagna
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the mozzarella cheese, and one-third of the meat sauce. Repeat layers and top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- 6
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
