Assembly
- 1
Prepare Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the espresso or strong coffee with coffee liqueur if using. Allow it to cool slightly.

In a large bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Layer Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a 9x13 inch dish.
- 4
Layer Cream Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill Tiramisu
Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
