Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomahawk

Remove the Tomahawk steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30-45 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the steak with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drizzle with olive oil and rub the spices into the meat. Allow it to sit for an additional 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Prepare your grill with firewood or charcoal, ensuring it's hot enough for high-heat cooking. If using charcoal, let it burn until covered with white ash.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the Tomahawk steak on the grill over direct heat. Sear each side for about 4-5 minutes to achieve a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Cook to Desired Doneness

After searing, move the steak to indirect heat and continue cooking until it reaches your desired internal temperature (125°F for medium-rare, 135°F for medium). Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the Tomahawk steak against the grain and serve with fresh rosemary garnished on top.
