Crispy Rice Base
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Season the Rice
In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Pour this mixture over the cooked rice and gently fold to combine. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Fry the Rice
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Spread the seasoned rice evenly in the skillet and press down firmly. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy. Carefully flip and cook the other side for an additional 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool before cutting into squares.
- 3
Prepare Edamame Topping
In a bowl, mix shelled edamame, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Stir in chopped green onions.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
Top each crispy rice square with the edamame mixture. Cut nori sheets into strips and place on top as garnish.
