Method

Cake Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cake Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, mixing until well combined. Gradually stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth.

  2. 2

    Bake the Cakes

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  3. 3

    Add Marshmallows and Chocolate

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Top with half of the mini marshmallows and half of the dark chocolate chips. Add the second cake layer on top.

  4. 4

    Create the S'mores Layer

On top of the second layer, sprinkle the remaining marshmallows and chocolate chips. If desired, use a kitchen torch to lightly toast the marshmallows for that classic s'mores flavor.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust

In a small bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter. Press the mixture around the edges of the cake and on top for a crunchy s'mores texture.
