Method

Preparation of Sushi Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions, usually in a rice cooker or on the stovetop.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large bowl and gently fold in rice vinegar while the rice is still warm. Allow to cool.

Sushi Assembly

  1. 3

    Prepare Ingredients

Slice the sushi-grade tuna and salmon into thin, bite-sized pieces. Slice the avocado and cucumber into thin strips.

  2. 4

    Roll the Sushi

Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small margin at the top. Lay slices of tuna, salmon, avocado, and cucumber in the center.

  3. 5

    Form the Roll

Using the mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you, pressing gently to keep the ingredients tight. Seal the edge with a little water.

  4. 6

    Slice the Rolls

With a sharp knife, slice the roll into 6-8 pieces. Repeat the process with remaining ingredients.

Presentation

  1. 7

    Serve the Sushi

Arrange the sushi rolls on a platter. Garnish with microgreens, edible flowers, and serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.

  2. 8

    Enjoy

Enjoy the exquisite flavors and presentation of your homemade sushi.
