Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Noodles

Soak the medium rice noodles in warm water for 30 minutes until softened. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Protein

In a large pan or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breast and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they turn pink. Remove the cooked chicken and shrimp from the pan and set aside.

  3. 3

    Scramble the Eggs

In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Crack the eggs into the pan and scramble until fully cooked. Push the eggs to one side of the pan.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the soaked noodles to the pan along with the cooked chicken, shrimp, pad Thai sauce, shrimp paste, and chili flakes. Toss everything together and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until heated through.

  5. 5

    Add Vegetables

Add the bean sprouts, sweet turnips, and chopped scallions to the pan. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Spicy Pad Thai hot, garnished with additional scallions or chili flakes if desired.
