Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Use a sharp knife to carefully scrape the meat down to the bone on one end of each drumstick, creating a 'lollipop' effect.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the chicken drumsticks and marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably in the refrigerator.

Breading and Frying

  1. 3

    Prepare the Breading

In a shallow dish, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the marinated chicken from the marinade and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each drumstick in the flour mixture until fully coated.

  3. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 6

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the breaded drumsticks into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally.

  5. 7

    Glaze the Chicken

Once fried, remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels. In a separate pan, heat the remaining marinade over medium heat until it thickens slightly. Toss the fried drumsticks in the glaze to coat.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle the glazed chicken lollipops with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
