Preparation Steps
- 1
Cook the White Rice
Rinse 2 cups of white rice under cold water. In a rice cooker or pot, combine the rinsed rice with 4 cups of water. Cook according to the rice cooker's instructions or bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- 2
Prepare the Fried Chicken
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Fry the thighs for about 7-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
- 3
Make the Macaroni Salad
Cook 1 cup of macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water. In a bowl, combine the macaroni with mayonnaise, diced celery, diced onions, and salt and pepper to taste. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- 4
Grill the Teriyaki Beef
Marinate the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, and pepper for at least 30 minutes. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the beef for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness is reached. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- 5
Steam the Broccoli
While the beef is grilling, steam the broccoli for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still vibrant green. Season with salt and pepper.
- 6
Assemble the Plate Lunch
On a large plate, serve a scoop of white rice, a piece of fried chicken, a portion of macaroni salad, grilled teriyaki beef slices, and a side of steamed broccoli. Enjoy your plate lunch!
