Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cucumber
Wash the cucumber thoroughly. Grate it using a box grater or food processor. Place the grated cucumber in a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth and sprinkle with a little salt. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to draw out excess moisture.
- 2
Mince the Garlic
While the cucumber is draining, peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely with a knife or use a garlic press.
- 3
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, add the Greek yogurt, drained cucumber, minced garlic, fresh dill (chopped), olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- 5
Serve
Before serving, give the tzatziki a good stir. Serve it in a bowl alongside warm pita bread for dipping.
