Korean BBQ Marinade and Accompaniments
Method
Preparation and Grilling
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions until the sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Marinate the Meat
Place the beef flank steak or pork belly in a large ziplock bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to high heat.
- 4
Grill the Meat
Remove the meat from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Grill the meat for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top while grilling.
- 5
Serve
Remove the meat from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the meat against the grain and serve with lettuce leaves and kimchi on the side for wrapping.
