Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  2. 2

    Fill the Wrappers

Take one gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

  3. 3

    Pan-Fry the Gyoza

Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place gyoza in the skillet, making sure they are not overcrowded. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

  4. 4

    Steam the Gyoza

Carefully add water to the skillet (it may splatter) and cover immediately with a lid. Steam for about 5-6 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the gyoza from the skillet and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
