Method
Preparation of Green Tea
- 1
Boil Water
In a kettle, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Ensure the water temperature reaches around 175°F (80°C) for optimal flavor extraction from the green tea.
- 2
Add Green Tea Leaves
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and let it sit for about 30 seconds. Then, add 2 teaspoons of green tea leaves to the water.
- 3
Steep the Tea
Allow the tea to steep for about 2-3 minutes. Steeping for too long can result in a bitter flavor.
- 4
Strain and Serve
After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser. Pour the tea into cups for serving.
Optional Enhancements
- 5
Sweeten the Tea
If desired, add 1 tablespoon of honey to the tea for sweetness. Stir well to dissolve.
- 6
Add Lemon
For a refreshing twist, add a slice of lemon to each cup before serving.
