Preparation of Meat
- 1
Cook the Fajita Meat
In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef or chicken fajita meat until fully cooked and browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let it rest.
- 2
Heat the Black Beans
In a small saucepan, heat the canned black beans over medium heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Preparation of Cheese Mixture
- 3
Prepare the Cheese
In a mixing bowl, combine the Monterey Jack cheese and jalapeño cream cheese. Mix until well combined and creamy. Set aside.
Assembling the Nachos
- 4
Layer the Nachos
On a large baking sheet or oven-safe dish, spread a layer of tortilla chips. Top with the cooked fajita meat, warmed black beans, and cheese mixture. Repeat layers if desired.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled nachos in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving the Nachos
- 6
Add Toppings
Remove the nachos from the oven and top with guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and jalapeños to taste.
- 7
Serve Immediately
Serve the nachos hot, allowing everyone to dig in and enjoy!
