Burger Patty

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the beef reaches your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

To assemble, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each burger bun. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by slices of tomato and onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
