BBQ Sauce
Method
Preparing the Ribs
- 1
Season the Ribs
Rub the pork ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly on both sides. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 2
Cook the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
Making the BBQ Sauce
- 3
Mix the Sauce Ingredients
In a bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
- 4
Cook the Sauce
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and simmer over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
Glazing and Serving
- 5
Glaze the Ribs
Once the ribs are cooked, preheat your grill or broiler. Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the top.
- 6
Finish on Grill
Place the glazed ribs on the grill or under the broiler for about 5-10 minutes until the sauce caramelizes slightly. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
