Method
Torte Directions
- 1
Prepare the Torte
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a round 9-inch cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a double boiler or microwave, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Eggs and Sugar
In a medium bowl, whisk the granulated sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking.
- 5
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, and gently fold until just combined.
- 6
Bake the Torte
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 7
Cool
Let the torte cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
