Method
Hand-cut Fries Directions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
- 2
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Make sure there’s enough oil to submerge the fries.
- 4
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Drain and Season
Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.
- 6
Serve
Serve the hand-cut fries hot, ideally with your favorite dipping sauce.
