Method

Main Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the Old Bay seasoning and sea salt. Carefully add the blue crabs to the pot and cover. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until the crabs turn bright orange.

  2. 2

    Make the Butter Sauce

While the crabs are cooking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Squeeze in the juice of the lemon and stir in chopped fresh parsley. Season with freshly ground black pepper and additional sea salt to taste.

  3. 3

    Serve the Crabs

Once the crabs are cooked, remove them from the pot and let them cool slightly. Serve on a large platter with the melted garlic butter sauce on the side for dipping.

Optional Sides Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Corn on the Cob

While the crabs are cooking, bring a separate pot of water to a boil. Add the corn and cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain and serve with butter and salt.

  2. 5

    Prepare Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and coleslaw dressing. Toss to coat evenly and let it chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

  3. 6

    Serve Crusty Bread

Slice the crusty bread and serve it alongside the crabs and sides for dipping into the butter sauce.
