Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Fish

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the fish fillets and coat evenly. Cover and marinate for at least 20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Fish

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the fish from the marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cabbage Slaw Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Slaw

In a large bowl, mix together the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Toss until well combined. Let sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembling Tacos

  1. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

Heat the soft corn tortillas on a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until warm and pliable.

  2. 5

    Fill the Tacos

Place a piece of grilled fish in the center of each tortilla. Top with a generous amount of cabbage slaw, sliced avocado, and, if desired, a dollop of sour cream and hot sauce.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the fish tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side.
