Method

Prepare the Crab

  1. 1

    Cook the Crab

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Carefully add the whole Dungeness crab and cover the pot. Boil for about 15-20 minutes, then remove the crab and plunge it into an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

  2. 2

    Clean the Crab

Once the crab is cool enough to handle, crack open the shell and remove the meat. Discard the shell and any unwanted parts, and set the crab meat aside in a bowl.

Make the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. 4

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the cocktail sauce and add salt to taste, adjusting the spiciness if desired.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

Arrange the chilled Dungeness crab meat on a serving platter or individual serving dishes.

  2. 6

    Add Cocktail Sauce

Serve the cocktail sauce in a small bowl alongside the crab. Garnish the platter with lemon wedges and sprinkle fresh parsley on top.

  3. 7

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Dungeness crab cocktail!
