Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thick fries, about 1/4 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps them become crispier when cooked.

  3. 3

    Dry the Fries

Drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean towel to remove moisture.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the fries in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Making the Garlic Butter

  1. 7

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter gently.

  2. 8

    Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 9

    Add Parsley

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley.

Final Assembly

  1. 10

    Combine Fries and Garlic Butter

Place the crispy fries in a large serving bowl and drizzle the garlic butter over them. Toss gently to coat.

  2. 11

    Add Old Bay Seasoning

Sprinkle the Old Bay seasoning evenly over the fries and toss again to mix well.

  3. 12

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
