Shellfish

Seasoning and Dipping Sauce

Method

Preparation of Shellfish

  1. 1

    Prepare the King Crab Legs

Thaw the king crab legs if frozen. Rinse under cold water to remove any ice. Place them in a large pot.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Lobster Tails

Using kitchen scissors, cut the tops of the lobster tails lengthwise. Rinse under cold water.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Shrimp

Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on for presentation.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mussels and Clams

Soak the mussels and clams in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove sand. Scrub the shells with a brush.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Cook the Shellfish

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add Old Bay seasoning. Add the king crab legs, lobster tails, shrimp, mussels, and clams. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes until all shellfish are cooked through and mussels open.

  2. 6

    Make the Dipping Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute and remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Seafood

Carefully transfer the cooked shellfish to a large serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley.

  2. 8

    Serve with Dipping Sauce

Serve the seafood platter warm with the garlic butter dipping sauce on the side. Squeeze additional lemon juice over the seafood to taste.
