Method
Prepare Glass & Mix Base
Chill and measure
Chill a tall glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice to cool while you assemble ingredients. Measure 2 cups of cold carbonated water and 3 tablespoons of cola syrup or concentrate.
Add the cola syrup and simple syrup to the bottom of the chilled glass (or a separate mixing pitcher). The simple syrup brightens and balances sweetness; if your cola concentrate is already very sweet, you may reduce or omit the simple syrup.
Pour in the 2 cups of cold carbonated water slowly over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and avoid excessive foaming.
Flavor Adjustments
Add 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice to introduce acidity and lift the flavor. Stir gently with a spoon 4–6 times to combine without flattening the carbonation.
If using, add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters for aromatic depth. Stir once more gently to distribute.
Serve
Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim and, if desired, a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately with a straw or long spoon.
Taste and adjust: for a stronger cola flavor, add an extra 1/2–1 tablespoon cola syrup; for more brightness, add another 1/4–1/2 teaspoon lime juice. Stir gently after adjustments.
