Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Slice the pork belly into thin strips, about 1 cm thick. Marinate the strips in a mixture of soy sauce, mirin, sugar, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Scallions

Chop the scallions into 5 cm lengths. Set aside for later use.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Rolls

Take a slice of marinated pork belly and place a few pieces of scallion on one end. Roll the pork tightly around the scallions.

  4. 4

    Cook the Rolls

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Place the pork rolls seam-side down and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the rolls from the heat, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice into bite-sized pieces and serve warm.
